ECM is a New Jersey certified laboratory (NJDEP Certification #18630) providing environmental, biological, and geotechnical analytical testing services. Centrally located in Somerset County, New Jersey, ECM can provide prompt pickup, delivery and sample collection throughout the northeastern metropolitan area. Via special courier, such as FedEX, UPS and DHL, the reach of service provided to our laboratory clients have included samples originating from South America, Asia and Europe.

ECM also provides field analyses for prompt analytical results. Current laboratory capabilities include both routine and specialized/custom testing services which are generally not performed by standard environmental laboratories. The services provided by the ECM laboratory are geared toward support of both comprehensive projects as well as more limited project or task specific testing requirements. The laboratory provides tailored services for all analyses from routine samples to custom test methods.

Laboratory services offered by ECM include:

  • General Wet Chemistry Analysis

The laboratory’s general wet chemistry analyses include support of wastewater operations, including lake, stream, and watershed monitoring, and general physical/chemical/biological testing as needed.

  • Bench Scale Physical, Chemical & Biological Treatability Studies

Treatability studies include static testing and flow through continuous reactor testing. Biotreatability studies are conducted to define the ability of a wastewater to degrade or express toxicity to a treatment system or to determine the affinity of natural degradation for site remediation. Product

formulation degradation studies are also conducted based upon standard OECD and USEPA methodologies.

  • Biodegradation & Bioaccumulation Studies of Product Formulation & Pure Compounds

  • Physical Testing & Characterization of Soil

  • In-Lab Ecologic Assessments using techniques such as sediment oxygen demand, nutrient utilization and degradation studies.

  • Quality Assurance Review / Data Assessment

The laboratory Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program is based upon protocol established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and the NJDEP. ECM has prepared site specific Quality Assurance Project Plans and Standard Operating Procedures including implementation, training, site audits, and data verification.
